Coweta County criminal records are public records, but not all information regarding criminal offenses can be made public as provided for by the Open Records Act Exceptions. For example, juvenile cases are sealed records. Coweta County Jail Division provides rules and guidelines for visiting an inmate in Coweta County Jail. Face-to-face visitation is not allowed, except with attorneys. Only one visit session is allowed per visiting day schedule, the time is limited to 15 mins and a maximum of 4 individuals, including children not under two years of age.

Visiting occurs 5 days a week, Monday - Wednesday, and Saturday - Sunday, with visiting hours from 6:30 pm-9:30 pm during the week, and 12:30 pm-5:00 pm on weekends. Online option is also available by the state-approved vendors and the request is done through the Coweta County Health Department or the Department of Public Health, Vital Records Online Ordering system. Only death and birth vital records are available through this option.
