How Do I Visit an Inmate in Richmond County Jail?

The Richmond County Sheriff's Office provides two options for seeing an inmate: a real-time video visitation system or on-site visits.

Real-time video visitation technology allows visitors to communicate directly with convicts, while an on-site visit allows for visitation at one of the visitors' kiosks. Inmates are only allowed to be visited three times each week.

Although visits are welcomed, specific rules are in place, and guests must respect them at all times. Visitors must plan a visit and get an approved date before entering the institution; otherwise, they will be denied entrance. Visitors must cooperate with the Jail Administrators, wear suitable clothes, maintain a quiet tone of the discussion, and respect other visitors and convicts. Inmates with disciplinary difficulties are not given visiting time, and no visitors under 17 are allowed into the facility. The jail administrator and visiting center personnel have the authority to refuse, cancel, or postpone inmate visits. All conversations are being recorded.
