What are Johns Creek Public Records?

The Georgia Open Records Act defines Johns Creek public records as any document generated by individuals or groups in a government agency while carrying out official business. Johns Creek public records may appear in different formats such as forms, documents, books, maps, papers, letters, tapes, photographs, films, sound recordings, and any other materials capable of storing information.

However, the Georgia Open Records Act exempts certain records from Johns Creek public records search. Depending on the statute or court order such records may be restricted in whole or partially. Some of the reasons certain records are exempted include:

  • Information about government personnel records
  • Information detailing trade secrets
  • Document revealing personal records such as driver license number, medical records, and more
  • Documents in an ongoing or pending investigation
  • Documents that may threaten the security of parties involved
  • Certain confidential records

Public city records may also be accessible from third-party websites. Record seekers may either opt to use these non-governmental platforms to search for a specific record or multiple city records. However, users will need to provide enough information to assist with the search such as:

  • The address of the requestor
  • A case number or file number (if known)
  • The location of the document or person involved
  • The name of the subject involved in the record (not juvenile)
  • The last known or current address of the registrant

Third-party sites are not sponsored by government agencies. Because of this, record availability and results may vary.
